Honor your CLASS with a donation to Leonia HS that will last a lifetime!!
- Buy a brick (or more) in honor of your class, family, or a friend.  Have it custom engraved with your personal message.
- Each brick will be installed in the LHS Peace Garden, at the Lower Main Entrance.
- All proceeds raised from the commemorative brick program will be donated to the LHS Scholarship Fund.

Carol Fishberg writes, "I am the parent of a junior at Leonia High School. I am part of the Home and School Association, and I am running a fund raiser for college scholarships. We are hoping that some of the alumni will be interested in participating. We are selling inscribed paving bricks that have been placed in the "peace" patio leading to the gym. Many bricks are already in place, but each year we add others, mostly contributed by parents of seniors with messages of congratulations. Did you know that there are 500 students to every high school guidance counselor nationwide? While LHS has more than one for its 500+ student population, they are unable to get the level of attention and service that will allow them to make the best decisions about their future.

One scholarship idea is hiring a college admission consultant from University Advisors Admission Specialists, LLC to work with one LHS Junior and their family over the course of 18 months (beginning in their junior year at LHS). It's an 18-month program that has been proven to prevent wasting valuable resources (effort, time, and money) at the wrong college or university. University Advisors works with students on choosing the right educational institution based on fit and not "brand."

Our goal is to raise $1,800.00 to fulfill the requirements needed for the Leonia Alumni Network scholarship whose proceeds would be contributed towards the benefit of one deserving LHS 3rd year student (Junior). WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The good news is that the Palisades Park/Leonia High School Football Team will once again be playing a varsity season in 2010.  This team, made up of student-athletes from Palisades Park, Leonia and Edgewater, came close to folding last season. With only 2 seniors and 5 juniors and 28 freshmen and sophomores, the varsity season had to be cancelled.    Instead of giving up, this young team overcame the disappointment of not being able to field a varsity team, as well as rumors of the football program’s demise by sticking together and playing great football. Under the talented leadership of Coach David Schuman and his staff, the boys stunned the league by playing hard and winning the majority of their games, including big wins against perennial league powerhouses.  Both the junior varsity and the freshman teams posted winning seasons, with a combined overall record of 11 – 4.   With a strong group of incoming freshman football players joining the team this September, the future looks very bright for this revived program.

This is where we need your help.  The TRI-TOWN TIGERS GRIDIRON CLUB, a non-profit booster club, has been formed to support this team as it makes its return to varsity play in September 2010.  Your help and support is needed in the quest for continued success on the field. With school budgets being trimmed drastically this year, such necessary items as uniforms, equipment and transportation, as well as hot pre-game meals and cases of drinks at games, will be at risk without your help.

High School football trains young men to work hard, to work together and to not give up when it looks like one cannot overcome adversity. These are the keys to success in football but also more importantly, in life.   The Palisades Park/Leonia Tigers Football Team embodies this spirit of positive perseverance and dedication to success.  Please help support the Palisades Park/Leonia Tigers by giving generously to the Tri-Town Tigers Gridiron Club.  Anything from food and equipment donations to monetary contributions will make a difference.
